He set the grate in place below the top edge of the altar, so that the grate rested halfway down from the top of the altar.[a] He made poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlaid them with bronze. He put these poles through the rings on two sides of the altar for carrying it. He made the altar hollow. Its sides were made of boards.
